Applicant: Public Institution “Radimlja” Stolac (acting on behalf of the Municipality of Stolac)

 

 

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

 

The "EUnity in diversity" project includes 11 small municipalities coming from 6 countries:

 

  1. members of the "I Care for Europe" Network (founded in 2013):

  • Čapljina (BA)

  • Rab, Rakovica (HR)

  • Aquileia, Recanati, Tarcento (IT)

  • Piran (SI)

  • Bač (RS)

 

  1. Municipality of Bar (ME)

 

  1. City of Metković (HR)

 

  1. Public Institution “Radimlja” (acting on behalf of the Municipality of Stolac)

 

  1. Adriatic GreeNet as the Technical Coordinator of the Network Activities

 

These small local communities have similar characteristics:

- have on their territory designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites (or heritage listed on the Tentative List) as well as heritage of European importance in terms of historical, social and natural values

- share a common "small local community" dimension, characterized by similar opportunities, facing similar problems and challenges.

 

After preparatory local activities in local communities, delegations of their representatives, namely 363 participants (representatives of 11 local authorities, 30 cultural, youth and local minority associations, 9 tourism organizations) will participate in joint activities of the Final International Event in Stolac which include: meetings, seminar, workshop, presentations of examples of good practice and experience, sightseeing of the cultural heritage of Stolac and its surroundings.

 

Activities are appropriate to reach the project’s objectives as they will encourage the active participation of local communities' representatives, making them true actors on the European stage, as they will:

-learn more about the specificities of local cultural heritage & its diversity

-discuss the EU opportunities as well as common issues faced by their local communities

-create joint project proposal to present within EU Programmes.
